We have thirteen bases and services which are located in and around the historic naval town of Plymouth and the counties of Cornwall and Devon. We provide full time education and support for up to 320 pupils at any one time and over 500 per year. Our students are mixed, aged from 4 to 19, and no longer engaged in mainstream schools. Referrals can be made by the local authorities, medical consultants or mainstream schools

We are looking for a compassionate and resilient Cover Supervisor/Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support the children and staffing is school. You will be required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, and follow school policies and the staff code of conduct.

The postholder may be required to do other duties appropriate to the level of the role, as directed by the headteacher or line manager.

You will be required to undertake Managing Actual and Potential Aggression (MAPA) training as part of your induction.

The ACE WRAP provisions provide a personalised wrap-around education package to complex pupils most of whom have an Education, Health and Care plan. The pupils have failed to thrive in secondary and special schools or are new to Cornwall. All of our pupils exhibit social, emotional and mental health needs, with many also experiencing Autistic Spectrum disorders. We accept referrals from the Local Authority and work with pupils from KS1-KS4. We are proud of the outstanding work that we do and we are excited about the future.

Every child has a high level of support including one to one teaching with bespoke timetables based on thematic learning. A wide range of personalised learning in and out of the classroom is designed to engage the student, build resilience and provide the foundation for rapid academic and social/emotional progress. We work very closely with parents, carers and many other agencies to ensure that the child’s progress is paramount.
