Design and Technology
Design and Technology is the study of the products around you. You will learn how they are made and how to design and make your own. This is useful if you wish to enter a career in construction or design. If you study Design and Technology with ACE, you will get a chance of studying either the ELC (Entry Level Certificate) or a Product Design Short Course GCSE. In Humanities you will study the world you live in focussing on settlements, plate tectonics, coasts and tourism. You will gain an ELC (entry level certificate) in this area.
On the BTEC course for PE you will learn about sports and the mind, physical fitness and leadership. You can find revision resources from both the www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize and www.teachPE.com . We offer a leadership course where you have a chance to gain a qualification.
In Art, you will study artists and their work. You will be creative in your own right and make your own art. You will get the chance to study the AQA short course GCSE.
PSHE allows to you study personal, social, health and economic issues that surround you. These are important because they will help you to understand how to live healthy, active and fulfilling lives as well as giving you career help/advice.
